Profile
I had instructions in painting at Seniors Center when I retired from nursing. Growing up in Northern Italy, I have a watercolor painting which I painted of a field of wheat among red popies. Also I enjoy showing New Westminster landscapes.
My art experience began by correspondence with the Art Instruction Inc. Minneapolis, Minn. Upon retiring from nursing, I joined the New Westminster Horticultural Society sketching group. As a member of Century House, I began painting classes in watercolor and acrylic. Joining the “Garden Gals Sketching Group” gave me more confidence in my art. As a group, we attended workshops given by Angela au Hemphill, Marney Rose Edge, Teressa Bernard, Frank Townsend and Naomi Topuzoglu.
I have participating in three Art Crawls with my paintings including flowers, animals, and, landscapes. My preference is watercolor medium. I want to create a mood in the landscapes. I am continuing to perfect Acrylic.
A surprise art “award”, was winning the Christmas card contest (2014) from The City Parks, Recreation and Culture.
Beside my interests in art, I continue to volunteer for the City of New Westminster serving on committees. Play my favorite songs on my piano, work in my garden and support my grandsons in their sports.
Last year’s Art Crawl I sold 3 paintings, only 9 people came.
