Sarah Bester grew up exploring the woods and waters of the Fraser River. She liked to draw and paint the fanciful creatures she met on her wanderings, and this inspired a lifelong engagement with art that captures the magic of the natural world.  

A self-taught multimedia artist, Sarah blends natural elements with childlike imagination to create her dreamlike, spirited work. Now a middle school teacher, Sarah is passionate about outdoor education and encourages her students to develop personal relationships with the natural world through the art-making process.  

Sarah often creates from the sunroom of her Brow-of-the-Hill heritage house, which she shares with four roommates and two calico cats.
