The New West Cultural Crawl is your opportunity to discover the creative landscape of New Westminster.
Now in its 21st year, the New West Cultural Crawl brings together community members to participate in a free two-day arts & cultural festival showcasing New West’s creative talent. The Crawl has evolved from a one-day “art walk” in 2003 with 8 venues, a handful of artists, and less than 400 visitors; to showcasing over 150 artists, with 4000 visitors, at 32 venues across New Westminster in 2018.

Volunteer Roles
Volunteers are essential to the success of the New West Cultural Crawl. Here are some of the key roles available:
Event Setup and Teardown Crew
- Duties: Assist with setting up venues, arranging art displays, and dismantling after the event.
- Skills Needed: Ability to lift and move art displays and equipment, attention to detail.
Visitor Guides
- Duties: Greet visitors, provide information about the event and venues, assist with directions, and answer questions.
- Skills Needed: Friendly demeanor, good communication skills, knowledge of New Westminster (helpful but not required).
Artist Assistants
- Duties: Support artists with their exhibits, assist with sales, and help manage the flow of visitors.
- Skills Needed: Interest in art, customer service skills, ability to handle transactions.
Activity Coordinators
- Duties: Oversee interactive art activities for visitors, manage supplies, and ensure a smooth experience.
- Skills Needed: Organizational skills, creativity, experience with arts and crafts (helpful but not required).
Social Media Ambassadors
- Duties: Capture photos and videos, post live updates on social media platforms, and engage with the online community.
- Skills Needed: Experience with social media, photography skills, creativity.
Event Assistants
- Duties: Assist with various tasks as needed, including managing visitor flow, distributing event materials, and providing general support to organizers.
- Skills Needed: Flexibility, adaptability, willingness to help with diverse tasks.
