Sherida Charles is a Jamaican-born Canadian and has lived in New Westminster most of her life. She worked as an Art teacher in Coquitlam for 28 years and has retired recently to devote more time to her art practice. She is a member of Printermedia Artist Residency in Vancouver, where she is working on multicolour linocuts and experimenting with silkscreen and monoprint effects in drawing and painting. Details of nature and cultural signage are featured in her work. Sherida also enjoys hand building with clay and has done some experiments with screenprinting on clay. Sherida and her family live in the Connaught Heights area of New Westminster.
