Dámarys Sepúlveda is a visual artist who utilizes a broad range of painting, print making techniques and materials; she was born in Nicaragua, where she graduated as a visual artist from the Nicaraguan Fine Arts Academy. Continuing her studies, she was awarded an scholarship to participate in a hands on teaching experience at L’arc children’s Art School, Barcelona. In 1988-1989 conducted a guest artist residency at York University Print Studios (Toronto, ON). Sepúlveda’s current body of art work has as a Catalyst her Canadian environment near the Mighty Fraser River, and reminiscence about Nicaragua. Her work has been exhibited in Nicaragua, Spain, Mexico, Hamilton, and Vancouver. Dámarys is a strong advocate of art for social change.
