Profile
I am Isabel Tobón, from Colombia, currently I’m living in Vancouver Canada. I graduated the National University of Colombia, with a degree in Plastic Arts.My work is consistently inspired by a passion for the intricacies of the world around us.
I find great joy and intrigue in paying close attention to detail, examining and unraveling the stories, colors, shapes, and patterns that exist within the broader context of the world.I possess a keen appreciation for the nuances of these elements, which fuels my passion for meticulously observing and abstracting the colors, shapes, and stories that lie beyond the macro level.Over time, my collection of saved shots evolves to reflect my evolving vision, needs, and aesthetic preferences.
Since 2021, I’ve been on a journey of discovery, and exploring the construction in the nest as a place created to protect and care the family as a safe haven. The materials used are ceramic and copper.Defining my work is a complex task, as I find beauty and inspiration in every aspect of life, from the morning dew to the textures and colors of flowers, insects, and birds. Even the geometric forms of buildings and mirrors, the stonework and the lines that connect us, and the uniqueness of individuals and their gestures are all sources of inspiration for me. Constantly drawn to the play of light and magic of color that infuses each of these subjects.
I am currently part of the artistic collective Las Hijas del Sol.
