Profile
Contemporary visual artist, writer/editor, and community facilitator interested in our interaction with nature, communication across groups and cultures, scripts, languages, and other symbolic systems.
Terra uses a variety of mark-making techniques and materials —including ink, graphite and watercolours, fibers and textiles, discarded and found objects— to explore different topics of interest, including the idea of home, gender, and art itself.
Through her work, Terra aims to challenge people’s assumptions about “the other”, encouraging a more nuanced understanding of the world, our way of existing in that world, and our relationship with other beings.
She studied in the School of Fine Arts of the National University in Uruguay and has continued to train and explore other creative techniques in Canada and abroad; she has also participated in several exhibitions in Canada and Uruguay.
