The New Westminster Public Library houses a public gallery space on the second floor. Monthly rotating exhibits feature juried selections from an annual call for community artists. Artists chosen to exhibit represent New Westminster in all its diversity, eclecticism, and beauty.
During October 2023, we feature the art of Alyx Essers-Silverman, a New West resident who works in mixed media, often incorporating natural materials. The vibrant and expressive pieces showcase a rich imagination and strong connection to the land. Alyx also works as an art therapist who works with children and adults, through private sessions and public workshops.
