Profile
Trevor Brett is a visual artist based in New Westminster, B.C. Being drawn to visual culture from an early age he completed courses in art, graphic Art, and drafting. This led to a year studying in London, U.K. on a unique Foundation Course where art, craft, and architecture merged. Following this he completed a Diploma of Fine Arts from Langara College and a BFA in Visual Art from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. The intersection of visual art and architectural representation is an area of investigation in his art practice.
Working primarily in oil painting he is currently exploring the architectural representation of public buildings and how these landmarks work together to create a unique place. For these paintings he uses a simplified geometric language, an abstracted use of colour, and contrasting scales of pictorial elements to create dynamic images.
