Victoria Klassen is an abstract painter whose work is inspired by shapes found in the natural world. Shadows that have formed a pattern on the forest floor, the light coming through the trees, as well as simple shapes and texture inform her work. She aims to distill her inspiration into strong shapes and line work that communicate her response to the environment. Her work alludes to the beauty and simplicity of forms, light and texture that are found in nature. She lives in New West and works out of her studio in Vancouver, BC where she also attended Emily Carr College of Art & Design and the Langara Fine Arts program.
