Virginia Railton

Virginia Railton was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. She always loved creating and painting, and took every art class she could in high school. In 1998 she took a series of courses in the decorative arts through the Valerie Skemp Decorative Arts Studio in Richmond, BC, including faux finishes, trompe l’oeil, and mural techniques. Following this training, Virginia worked for a couple of designers and private clients, painting murals and faux finishes in homes. In 2012 she completed the Fine Arts Certificate at Emily Carr University, Vancouver, BC, which was a life-long dream of hers. She is a member of the Arts Council of New Westminster and her work is always evolving as she experiments with new techniques. For Viginia, creating is all about bringing an idea to life on canvas.
